has more than 25 years' experience in education, much of it spent in schools and institutions across the United Kingdom. A passionate lover of literature and history, he makes his debut as a novelist with Los Olvidados (Forgotten), a moving novel inspired by real events that tells the odyssey of a group of Spanish Republican soldiers during the Second World War. He currently lives in the north-west of England, where he combines teaching with writing.
